Recent technologies have opened interactive communication between persons that are deaf and hard of hearing and those that are not. This workshop will take the perspective of the technology user and define how these technologies improve the quality of their interactions at home and at work. It will also touch on some communication etiquette that facilitates interaction in all contexts.

Learning Objectives:
  1. Define problems encountered by persons that are deaf and hard of hearing in a group context.
  2. Outline issues of etiquette that can facilitate communication with persons that are deaf and hard of hearing.
  3. Demonstrate through video, photos and descriptions, how various technologies facilitate communication between persons that are deaf and hard of hearing and those that are unfamiliar with sign language.
